A young collie sat perched upon one of the boulders watching the water below flow at a fast rate. He knew that if he fell of it, it would result in his death. He sat there tail curled around his leg, watching the water. He saw a few schools of trout swim by. He picked up his head and looked up. It was nice out today. The sound of the rushing waters seemed to bring him at ease due to being a farm dog when he was a pup. Ahh, the memories of running through the fields, with his brothers and sisters, even the training in herding were good memories indeed.
Though now as he stood there glancing around he knew he made the right choice by leaving that farm behind. There were so many things offered here in this city he couldn't afford to pass up the chance to live here. Things got pretty boring arond the farm anyway. He gently laid down placing his head on his paws. His emerald green eyes looked ahead as he sat there in thought. Was he going to be a loner, or would he join a pack? He had no idea for the moment. The wind blew by blowing his fur back a bit. Making the dog squint his eyes just a little. A day couldn't get much better than this. So far with coming to this city he had a bit of trouble with dogs referring to him as a "female" due to his beautiful fur, yet handsome appearence. They shouted things like, "gay" towards him. Thinking on this he snorted like an angry bull. He was a tough dog for being a sheltie he could handle it. Muscle was hidden in his legs beanth the fur. He may have been an average-sized collie but he was good with his speed and agility when it came to a fight.

As her small paw came down upon a sharp pebble, the wiry mutt let out a loud whimper. She shook her offended limb carefully, flexing the digits to dislodge the little stone from between her toes. When it fell from her paw and was lost in the tall grass, Bullet let out a derisive harrumph. To think that such an innocent little thing like eroded rock would make a dog as strong as Bullet shriek like a pup at its first sight of an alpha - no, no, not to think of such a thing, because such a thing was positively unthinkable. Bullet was not a pup - she was a bold, wonderful dog. A born leader. An experienced alpha - no matter that her pack was probably scattered in different cities or dead. No matter at all.
She sniffed the air, her pointed nose catching the random scents of animals, water (of course), grass, trees, nature in general, and other dogs - strange dogs, and definitely not the dog she was looking for. She hadn't a clue where Heathen had gone, but she'd been looking for him all day - she was finished with it. He could catch his own meal, for all she cared... She'd eaten most of the rabbit she'd caught, anyways, and the big Wolfhound's secret voices probably wouldn't be happy about that. He should learn to ignore those things. It would make Bullet's life a hell of a lot easier.
So she concentrated on the other scents around the rapids; namely, another dog who was close by, who Bullet had never met before. She hadn't been around the city as long as some of the other dogs, but she'd been around long enough to know most of the regulars. It was rare to find on she'd yet to meet.
"Hey," Bullet called, not one for niceties. "Who're you?"

He turned his head, sitting up. He faced her, and looked her over. She seemed friendly enough for the moment," The names Chief. Who are you?" Chief was friendly towards those who were friendly towards him, the same went for if a dog became aggressive on him. His green orbs looked over the dog calmly, she must have been a mixed breed by the looks of her. A pretty one at that, he had to admit. He gently stood up, hoping down on the same ground with the female. His ears were perked up in the air, and his tail was down slightly wagging. He gently scraped his right paw against the ground, feeling the dirt in his nails.
"So.... where are you from anyways?" The male dog had no idea what to say. He wasn't only trying to come up with some sort of conversation. His eyes studied her every feature, juding her body language. Seeing no threat for the time being, he relaxed.

Bullet sat down, whip-thin tail whushing back and forth in a rhythm that translated 'bored' rather than overt friendliness. Her somewhat large dark brown ears flicked away flies with the same sort of disinterest as she studied the dog before her. He was young - half her age, at least - and still had that fresh out of puppyhood cleanliness about him. Probably only left his home with some humans out of necessity or some glowing naive yearning for adventure, and she doubted he'd been on these streets for long enough to really figure out what was really out here. What was brewing in this city, a dirty little secret just below the surface of what to many looked to be paradise.
"The name's Bullet, Chief," she said and, Chief? Honestly, that's more of a nickname than something proper, isn't it?
Ignoring that little nitpicking voice in her head (Oh, skies above, Heathen's insanity was rubing off on her), Bullet gave the young collie another look-over. He really was quite pristine... It'd be a pity to see that flowing coat mussed up in battle, wouldn't it?
"I'm from all over, really... Mostly a city just north of here, but I consider this place my home now..."
She gave Chief a pointed look with two blackish eyes, the raccoon-like mask around said eyes and face making them look more aged than they really were.
"You, on the other hand, would probably do better to move on from this place..." The wind ruffled her fur lightly - which was quite a feat, considering how coarse and short her fur was - and she looked up at the sky dazedly. "There's a storm on the horizon, sweetie, and there's no shelter in sight."

He blinked a few times. He studied her body language still, averting his gaze over her body for a moment. Hearing the female say her name was Bullet. Put a slight smile on his muzzle. He sat down as well, his tail resting gently behind him," It's a pleasure to meet you, Bullet." His green eyes kept on her eyes.
"Ahh, I see. I came here from a farm area, not exactly my style. I'm more of a steet dog. Despite my looks that is..." Most judged him purely on what he looked like. He was a tough dog though. Softly he stopped his right paw from rubbing against the ground. There was just a little bit of nervous-ness in his body language.
He looked at her face after the lok she gave him. She did indeed look aged. He wondered how old she was? Though he was to much of a gentlemen to ask such questions to lady. Even at two years of age, he was more mature than that.
He snorted. His eyes looked up at the sky. She was right. He guessed that the nice weather from earlier wouldn't stay fro long. Though he honestly had no place to go. He was a loner, and hadn't even settled down yet. He slept where he could, he just wanted to get a feel for the city before joining a pack," That's very true. It's probably not wise to be near these trechorous rapids during a storm. I'd say that'd be a deathwish. Don't you agree?" A small chuckle escaped his lips.
