I wanna let go of the pain I’ve held so long
I wanna heal, I wanna feel like I’m close to something real
I wanna find something I’ve wanted all along
Somewhere I belong
I wanna heal, I wanna feel like I’m close to something real
I wanna find something I’ve wanted all along
Somewhere I belong
The haze was lifting off the near mountains as the sun began to slowly rise and warm the earth. The rocky beach was most beautiful here, a place most people would gather around to watch the sun rise. Except in this town, there was no people. The rocky beach though should be untouched by a living mammal, was not. Laying on the rocky ground was Harlow, the belgian malinois.
She was not tired, she got her share of sleeping the day before. She had only been back in town for a little over a day. First she had went to her old house, or what was left of it. Very little was left. She came home to a dog ruled city. She was now on the rocky beach glaring into the water. It was chilly outside, especially being close to the water. Harlow suspected it wasn't yet seven a.m. but she had come here anyways instead of sleeping.
When her owner was still around, he would bring her down to this place and try to get her to play. She played for him so that he wouldn't be sad but she was much happier when chasing the bad guys. She lived for the adrenaline pumping through her veins. The large black ears twitched at the sounds of birds off in the distance, catching every sound. She had spent many years on the police squad and had underwent a lot of training in order to get there.
Sitting up now, Harlow stretched out her long slender legs and yawned. Her teeth showed as she pulled her lips over her teeth as she yawned. She shook herself out as she repositioned herself on the rocky beach, it wasn't much comfortable but it reminded her of the way life used to be. Nothing around here did anymore. She sat watching the water hit against the rocks over and over and over again.
She had yet to explore much of the town, it was all owned by packs of which she didn't intend of joining right away. The female sat stock still as if a statue, the only sign of life coming from her was the slight chest movement as she breathed. Her tan coat shined in the sun as it rose higher above the earth and the black mask seemed to be lighter. Her eyes showed the true brown in them and if upon further inspection, you could find the hint of golden flecks inside of them.
Harlow couldn't doubt that she missed her owner, she missed him dearly. But he obviously hadn't come back for her so he obviously didn't miss her to much. For all she knew, or cared, he had got another police dog and was working somewhere else. Harlow sighed as she turned her head, breaking her statue like placement. There was rocks and water wherever she looked. Today was beginning boring. Same as most now a days.
