Land of the Dark
So, you’ve decided to join the ranks of Svartheim? How very devilish you must be. You see; we are not pack of the kind and gentle. We live upon a scared land that has turned our paws and hearts tough. The dogs of Svartheim are proud fighters. We will never back down from a challenge, even at the cost of our lives. Only those hardy of body and stout of mind should bother to join our ranks, because those who are weak may not even make it through the registration process.
Acceptance
1. You must start a thread with ((Acceptance)) somewhere in the title. It lets the Dame know just what you're doing in her territory. Any dogs that approach the territory without the word Acceptance or Joining in their topic thread will be treated as threats and attacked by the krigers.
2. Upon being escorted to the heart of the pack, you will be put through test to see if your dogs has what it takes to be part of the pack. These may vary from fighting challenges to lone vigils, to dangerous spy missions. There is a risk your dog may die, so keep that in mind.
-- We won't ever kill a dog without the roleplayer's consent, of course.
3. Dogs will be given two changes to prove themselves through an ordeal. After that second failure, they will be banished from the territory.
4. Only the Dame and the Konge have the direct power to accept members. The Varamann may decide not to bring a dog to into the pack, however.
Obedience
1. The Dame's word is law. All subsequent pack members must listen to her at the price of death.
2. Dogs of the Viktig class have the same authority over the pack as the Dame. They can push other members around, command them to do tasks, and inflict minor injury. Speaking back will result in severe punishment.
3. The Varamann and the Soldat have the same authority as the Viktig class. The exception being, the Varamann cannot order krigers around and the Soldat cannot order the felles around.
4. The krigers have a slightly more important role than the felles, and will thus get slightly better food and first choice of dens.
5. The Dame will occasionally call large back meeting in a large clearing overlooked by a crumpled wall. All pack members, regardless of standing or position in the territory, must attend.
Duties
1. It is your daily job to make sure you go about your duties to the pack, whatever they may be. Those who are lazy or skip out on a task are punished.
2. Once a pup has reached six months of age, he or she will be put through various tasks to discern what their skills are. From those skills, they will be put into an apprentice rank under a master of the skill.
3. Ranks and Duties are listed and explained in the Ranks and Duties post (no way)!
Fighting
1. Members of Svartheim are encouraged to attack any dogs that speak badly about the pack.
2. Members are also encouraged to fight members of other packs that Svartheim does not get along with.
3. Fights for a rank may take place. The Dame or Konge must be alerted prior to the fight so that they may be there to judge. The Dame and the Konge may also be challenged, but it's a slim chance you'll win.
Breeding
1. The Dame will have no tolerance for a dog found mating outside the pack. She will allow the pack member to bring forth their mate for acceptance, but should they fail, both dogs are punished.
2. Mates must come forth to the Dame to ask permission to bear pups. This is so she may control the numbers in her pack so that the territory will still be able to support them.
3. Though a pack of less-than-kind dogs, raping is frowned upon. A female who has been violated in such a way is asked to come forth with the male's name. Punishment for this act is castration, done by the Dame or Konge personally.
4. Svartheim members may under no circumstances mate with dogs of a rival pack. Pups of half blood will be killed or abandoned.
