Name: Nymph
Age: 7 years
Breed: Border Collie Mix (possible saluki or borzoi heritage)
Eyes: Dark brown, almost black
Body: Her fur is quite silky and long. The base is raven black, and long. It's somewhat wavy but not poofy or greasy. Her body and face is slim, possibly saluki-like. Her ears are quite border collie-ish though, being folded and feathery around the ends. Her muzzle is snow capped, white above her nose, becoming an orangey brown as it extends down to her cheek bone. Her eyebrows are dotted with large brown circles of the same color, and her legs are adorned with stockings extending halfway up her legs.
She's very willowy and thin, her legs look almost fragile, and her paws are small and dainty. She has a great sloping barrel chest, containing huge lungs, great for running. Part of her tail was severed in an accident, it's now only about 6 inches long.
She's got several several silver studs on each ear flap, not heavy enough to weigh them down. There's also a dull looking grayish band on her back right leg with a few letters and numbers engraved in.
Gender: Female
Personality: (Slightly Adult) Well, Nymph is a bit crazy, but she's OK. She's sarcastic, but in an interesting mix of motherly and patronizing. She usually has good intentions, and isn't outwardly malicious, but tends to be somewhat snappish. She doesn't have much patience and won't put up with a lot of crap before throwing up her hands (so to speak) and leaving. She sees pretty much everyone as equal, but then again not. She isn't judgmental in the way that when she sees someone young she thinks "immature," or someone old and thinks "losing it," but rather upon meeting someone new just waits until they do something stupid to see them as a lower life form.
Nymph has a prominent sex-drive. When she sees someone she likes, she practically attaches herself to them until she gets what she wants (-cough-). She's not so much clingy as incredibly horny. She doesn't become so attached to her object of affection that she needs them, or can't live without them.
History: Nymph was born in a humane society crate, along with several other pups. Most of the pups either died or were adopted at some point, but Nymph grew ill and wasn't up for adoption until she was about 6 months, already having shed most of her endearing puppiness by then.
The shelter grew over-run with puppies and kittens that spring, barely giving the older dogs, such as Nymph any chance to be adopted. Nymph was treated kindly by workers, as well as foster homes she went into, but wasn't given full attention because off all the other animals who had needs as well.
Nymph was transfered to a different shelter in the winter of that year. It had less animals, and she was able to get better treatment. Over the winter months she has several foster homes, but no takers. The following spring there was another explosion of animals. The shelter couldn't take the overflow, and was close to having to euthanize.
Then suddenly, Nymph was adopted. Along with about twenty other dogs, and probably even more cats she was pushed into a rather comfortable crate and carefully placed in a van.
When the van stopped she was slid out, only half conscious and blinking in the sun. The crate was stacked above some sort of terrier, and bellow a yowling cat. They were placed on some sort of transportation vehicle and driven through brightly lit hallways.
As it turns out they were a commercial product testing company. Luckily for Nymph she was not in a medical or chemical unit. She had lighter, less damaging products. Such as painfully acidic bugspray, horrible perfumes, and blinding airborne odor 'eliminators'. Fortunately enough she wasn't exposed to any excruciating vivisection, but her torture was enough to leave her with a bit of a grudge towards humanity in general.
Eventually her use as a guinea pig ended. She'd been exposed to so many products the testers weren't sure how new things would react to what was already done to her, at which point she was unceremoniously (and without much regard for the rules) dumped outside, with nothing but a dull steel band, a few bald spots, and some nasty chemical burns to show for it. Since then most of her wounds have healed, and her fur filled in the missing patches.
