Dim lights showered down on Storm's black, ginger, and white pelt. He growled as the light met his light blue eyes, momentarily blinding him. Pivoting slowly to the right, he made his way toward more shadows. Shadows were comfort... Light was danger, though not for him. For the victim that confronted him.
Storm rolled onto his haunches, staring across to desolate landscape before him. It seemed so barren. He couldn barely remember the time when he had seen the humans walking up and down the streets, laughing and talking happily. But this. This was better then anything he could have imagined. The humans were gone. To some dogs, this would seem horrible. To him, this was wonderful. It was a "dog eat dog world", literally.
"And I don't plan on being eaten." he murmured almost inaudibly. He lowered his dial slightly, blinking weary eyes. He yawned hugely, his harks still raised, alert for anything. He couldn't sleep now. It risked the chance of being attacked while he slept.

Dainty little creamish brown feet rhythmically beat the paved street. The clicking of claws was barely audible, even in the silence of the city. The dog was small, only about twenty pounds, maybe less. He had dark brown almond shaped eyes, and a fluffy tail that curled lightly over his back. His shadow danced on the sidewalk, accompanying him as he trotted carelessly through the city.
Cedar had a thin and pointed muzzle, which was tipped slightly upward gazing at a few wispy clouds as he continue to pad along. Suddenly his little nose twitched. His head shot forward from it's tilted angle and his ears cocked forward. "And I don't plan on being eaten" The words were faint, and obviously not meant for Cedar's ears. It didn't sound as though the words had been directed at anyone, just an airy breath of self-musing. A crooked little smile lit up the little shiba's face as his pace quickened.
He still made little noise, even as he moved more quickly. His tail bobbed merrily on his back as he accelerated towards the voice. Cedar skidded to a halt, not three feet from the tri-colored dog. He searched momentarily for a suitable greeting and managed to come up with "Hi there! I'm Cedar."

Storm's harks perked in alarm and he whirled his dial around to see a small dog, barely three quarters of Storm's huge size. He felt his lips curling into a snarl, his eyes turning into a full-on glare. He jumped up to his feet, pivoting toward the small dog.
What? He just walked up to me? Doesn't he know some dogs aren't safe... like me? Storm let a low growl out, his whole bulk shaking with the sound. He stayed in the shadows in case the small dog had brought friends.
"Why have you come to me?" he snarled, backing away, his claws making a barely audible click on the hard concrete. He lifted his dial so that he was eye-level with the dog, the look on his face never changing. "There's danger on these streets... I'm sure everyone with half a mind would know." he growled, beginning to pad forward and circle the shiba.

Cedar considered the fact that this dog may have just suggested that he didn't have half a brain, but he decided to ignore it. "I didn't really come to you," he said, shrugging "Well not specifically. I mean I was out walking and-" he looked at the hostile expression of the dog. "What's your problem?" he said snappishly. Finding Storm's anger annoying. It was a free city after all. Cedar could walk wherever he wanted, and talk to whoever he wanted.
He decided to continue without waiting for an answer "Anyway, I was just walking and I heard you muttering something, so I decided to come check it out." he watched the bigger dog walk around him and snapped "Will you quit that? I'm gonna get dizzy, crazy circle-walking weirdo" Cedar's eyes narrowed suspiciously at Storm, wondering what the deal was with this shadow-lurking oddity.
An empty plastic bag rolled eerily down the street, making a crinkling noise each time it hit the pavement. The tumbleweed of civilization. Cedar watched it bounce lazily in the wind. He was itching to chase it, but managed to refrain. Not wanting to make a complete idiot of himself in front of the offending mutt.

Storm issued a loud growl toward the dog, still circling him. He seemed safe enough, but that didn't mean Storm was. He considered starting a fight but refrained. Too much of a mess. Someone would be able to follow the scent of blood if he did.
"Crazy circle circle-walking dude?!" he snapped at the small dog, his eyes piercing. Was this dog some new form of stupid he should know about? You don't call another dog names in this part of town unless you want to get killed. It was just like that. But maybe this half-wit didn't know that.
"To come check it out?" scoffed Storm at the dog's ignorant words. The shiba should have run for dear life when he heard Storm's husky voice. Storm quickened his pace so that he was circling at a slow jog, a slight breeze ruffling his multi-colored hair. "You probably haven't been here long if you thought you could just check it out, halfling." he growled, quick to make assumptions.

Cedar was offended. With a pull in his lip he responded "Actually, you rotted piece of carrion I was born here. He stood huffily and jumped out of Storm's looping circle of mockery. He muttered a few more insults under his breath and continued "Besides, why should I be afraid of some fluffy little house-pet?" he asked voice laced with venom (that probably wasn't that scary, considering the little shiba's size).
Cedar glared unblinkingly into Storm's icy cold eyes "What's your name anyway, mangy face?" his penetrating glare of hatred softened into curiosity. He looks sort of feminine Cedar though suddenly. Maybe this dog was actually a girl! His nose told him otherwise, but he had a hard time not asking. However, his mother had once given him this piece of advice: Never ask someone either of these things: Their gender, or if their pregnant. Either way there will be problems.

(Are you serious lol?) Storm let a lower, more masculine growl out(Thats for you!), his voice huskier then usual. He ran back up and began to circle the dog again. It wouldn't be "safe" to let him out. He really, really wanted to tear this dog to bits, but there was that same factor of the bloody smell. He growled at this.
"Storm and I suppose your name is shrimp? Or maybe shorty?" Storm scoffed, quickening his pace until he was whipping by the dog, trying to maintain a distance but gradually getting closer. He eyed the dog with his strange icy orbs, a look of amusement on his features.
"House-pet... Are you sure you aren't one, halfling?" he growled, a smirk crossing his face. Who did the small dog think he was? Either way, he had spunk. And that could get you killed. Storm laughed at the thought of killing the dog... It would be fun. Maybe he'd squeal. The temptation almost got to him and he got just a little closer.

ooc: Oh yes. I'm always serious, k'chow.
The circling Storm was making Cedar queasy. He growled and trotted defiantly out of the circle and a bit farther away than he had last time. "I already told you, flea-bag. My name is Cedar. And the size jokes are over-used and not funny. I know this elkhound named-" he stopped short, feeling no need to go into much detail "Anyway, I've heard it before. Get some originality." he scoffed. There was an urge deep in the pit of his stomach telling him to head for the hills. Possibly it was that "fight-or-flight" response buried somewhere way, way down in his instincts. The commonly ignored part.
Cedar could almost smell the malice dripping from the daunting loner. His fur rose and his spine tingled. Though this dog hadn't seemed particularly intimidating at first sight, he had the scariest way to him than the little shiba had ever encountered. However, he thought he could take him. Impatience was getting the better of him "Rrr. You're annoying, has anyone ever told you that? I hope your mother looked you in the freakish eye and said 'You are one hell of an annoying little abomination, you,'" he was tempted to continue insulting Storm, but horribly wanted to hear an enraged response from the dog. Angering was winning.

Storm let out a booming laugh at the little dog, trotting back and once again circling him. "Defiance is futile." he growled, his eyes beaming. "And, no, she didn't. And, yes, you are little. Get over it, small fry." he said, grinning menacingly. He lifted his paw, skidding to a halt and shook it. Sod from the landfills flew off it and onto the ground.
"Stupid stuff has been annoying me all day." he murmured, staring at the small dog. He didn't know who he was messing with, did he? Cyril might not have been so nice to him. Storm smirked at that. He shook his head at the small dog. "Kid, you really don't want to get on my bad side. Stuff will happen..." His voice sounded ominous, echoing through the deserted city.

Cedar raised a spotted eyebrow. He didn't like being underestimated "Like what?" he said, defiant as ever. His little tan chin raised and he sat on his haunches, forelegs curled up at his chest. He was closer to eye-level "I'm not afraid of you, fluffy." he said with a wolfish smirk "Perhaps stuff with happen to you," he lowered himself back into a sitting position. He stuck his tongue out, radiating stubbornness. He saw little point in breaking out of the circle again. This irritating piece of flesh would just follow him no matter which way he went. Apparently he'd gotten himself into a predicament. The black and tan dog wasn't happy about it, but he was also too cocky to run off with his tail between his legs. Cedar wasn't actually sure if his curled tail would bend that far.
"You smell rank." he pointed out suddenly. "You been hanging out in a fish carcass?" he asked, wrinkling his pointed noise in a show of disgust.
ooc: Sorry, short.[/size]

Storm found himself grinning again. The little dog just seemed so stupid. Again, he felt that lingering temptation to see if he'd squeal, but, again, held back, grinding his teeth angrily.
"The stuff? Dunno... Rogues cutting your throat out in your sleep. Me torturing you until you squeal. Us feasting on your flesh because we have nothing else to eat. The usual. But you know... I'd really like to make you squeal." Of course, they would never eat other dogs, but why not frighten him? A look of real longing crossed his face at the squealing part, but as quickly as it came it was gone. He backed a little away, using all his self-control not to jump the dog right then and there. A very hard task.
Storm's ears perked at his second question. Fish? Hmm... Maybe he could find some fish to bring home. "Not that I know of. Maybe it's dead dog." Storm shrugged as if it were nothing.

Cedar rolled his eyes "Your threats have me shaking in my owner's arms. Oh wait... I'm sorry, that'd be you." he laughed. In truth, he was intimidated by the larger dog. But one could also say with complete accuracy, that Cedar wasn't actually 'afraid' of anything he'd witnessed so far in his life.
I cannot physically finish this post right now. My inspiration just died a little 3x

Storm was irked... He really was getting annoyed. This dog talked too much and he wanted to return to the Landfills, his home, before dusk. This little brat was sucking up his time. He yawned hugely, blinking his strange eyes. This was stupid. He had better thing to do, but maybe... he could have a little fun. The dog apparently thought this was going nowhere. If other dog's followed him because of the blood, Storm would simply give them the body. Inner City dogs starved. They'd eat it in no time.
"Okay, Cedar." he laughed, bending low. Storm glared daggers at the small dog, his mouth opening to expose white dentals. He let out a low growl, his whole build bulging with the muscle hidden beneath his long fur. "You wanted a fight and I'll give you one." (Run for the hills, Cedar!)

((Can I butt in? c:))
Tonight was a good night for a hunt. The elk hound loped down the street, her claws clicking ever so faintly against the pavement. It was only during night that it got cool enough for her to hunt under her thick coat. The unnatural orange street lights hummed overhead. They illuminated the street and surrounding side-walk with their strange light, casting shadows only into the darkest recesses of the alley ways. Illuminated just on the fringe of an alley was a scene that made the female reign in her speed and stop to take a look.
It was two dogs, one small and black, the other tri-colored with massive shoulders. Thora could take a wild guess about the identity of the black one - who else could look so cocky in the face of danger? The other dog was a stranger to her, though. The elk hound trotted over to the pair. She held her head high with confidence that bordered smugness. She looked down her muzzle at the two males and she pulled to a halt next to them.
"What's goin' on here?" Thora asked tersely. It was neutral land and her authority as Alphess did not extend to these lands, but maybe the black-and-tan dog was none-the-wiser. She refrained from associating herself with Cedar for the time being. If he was getting in over his head, the female wasn't going to intervene - despite the inklings of affection she was starting to feel for the pup. She raised her brows and shot a darting glare at Cedar, hoping he would get the message not to do or say anything stupid.
She readjusted the collar around her neck. Hopefully she looked intimidating and tough to the foreign male... enough to keep him from trying anything funny anyway. Thora sniffed.

ooc: Thora to da rescue! Cedar opened and closed his mouth several times before speaking "This lowly piece of ugly mother-" he paused "This craphead is being a jerk," he said casually "Thinks he owns the place." although the situation was somewhat tense Cedar's ears were perked up, and his eyes bright. He wanted to see Thora deal with Storm. He was bordering on a smug grin, but settled for a smirk. His dark, almost black eyes flicked from face to face. Wondering how quickly Thora would be able to tear out this offending dog's throat. Without noticing it a sly wolfish grin had spread over Cedar's thin little muzzle.
Although Cedar had never been even the slightest bit nervous the whole time he allowed himself to relax further with the spike-clad elkhound at his side. His thoughts began to wander, things along the lines of 'I am one god-awfully sexy stud' popped into his brain as he reflected upon visiting a puddle earlier and seeing his reflection. Shaking himself slightly the shiba returned to the current and blinked. Oh yes, an epic fight was to occur between his idol and some stinkface. He continue to smile as he watched the glare-fest ensue.ooc: Yes, I do it mostly to humor myself.
